Mauritius

Situated off the coast of Madagascar, the beautiful island of Mauritius has long been a popular holiday destination for those seeking warm year-round temperatures, luxurious surroundings and a sense of exclusivity. An increasing numbers of visitors are discovering the timeless beauty and undeniable luxury that are the hallmark of the island.

When to go

The fantastic sub tropical climate of Mauritius ensures that it is warm throughout the year.

January through to April is the hottest time of the year in Mauritius, with temperatures regular exceeding 30°C. While it can rain during this period, it is often in the shape of short heavy showers rather than prolonged rainfall. It is also worth noting that during February Mauritius occasionally feels the tail wind from an anti-cyclone. However, this generally only lasts for a couple of days and is normally followed by beautiful conditions.

The coolest time to visit Mauritius is between May and August. With daytime temperatures still averaging around 25°C this is a popular time for families with young children to visit as well as those who just prefer the heat a little less intense.

September through to December is when a holiday to Mauritius is at its most popular, with temperatures hovering just below 30°C and humidity. This period also sees many of the country’s religious ceremonies and festivals.
